Ceramic Protection
Owned by a true enthusiast this 996 Turbo S has seen thousands spent on it updating the interior to the same style of the new 911's, Centre lock style OZ wheels and not to mention the engine work putting out in excess of 700BHP.
Its no secret that Porsche's are my weakness. and this one was certainly a special one. Following an initial consultation with the customer, it was established that given its recent respray and extremely thorough up-keep there was no requirement for machine polishing. Its not often I turn up to see a car and question what there really is that I can do but I'm always trying to raise the bar so a ceramic protection was agreed, with interior added on and engine bay detail I was looking forward to showing the customer how much better this Porsche could look.
Upon arrival a full decontamination was performed. Already very clean car there wasn't much contamination or dirt found on the car. Following deep arch clean, engine bay and clay the car had TFR applied and washed off, then a final wash, dried down and prepped. Using a metro Vac blower water was blown out of all the shuts, rubbers and cracks to ensure the paintwork was entirely prepped for the ceramic coating. Paint prep used to make a final wipe down ensuring all surfaces are ready for the sealant. A ceramic I've used a few times, Nanolex Si3D produces a stunningly deep, wet gloss and was the perfect choice for this 996. Following two applications to the exterior, the glass was coated with Carbon Collective Platinum Glass and Nanolex Si3D applied to the wheels. This coating is extremely versatile and can be applied to almost any surface other than glass and as such is not only one of the best I've used but fantastic value for money.
Moving onto the finishing touches, tyres, engine bay and arches where dressed and It was time to move onto that lovely interior. Being very recently re-trimmed it was purely a case of dusting down and wiping round the full interior. After hoovering, and dusting all the vents and surfaces the leather surfaces where cleaned using DR Leather wipes then G-Techniq L1 was applied to all leather surfaces.
Final wipe down complete the car was rolled out into the sun to ensure the highest finish was achieved then the customer arrived, stunned at the finish. Both myself and the customer happy this was a highly enjoyable detail.
